It’s the 2018 Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot in Alexandria!

What better way to get ready for mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, dressing, cranberry relish, rolls, pies, cakes, and, of course, TURKEY,  than the 5 mile 2018 Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot in Alexandria.

A 40 year collaboration of the Del Ray Business Association and the DC Road Runners, and the premier Turkey Trot in the Mid-Atlantic, the Trot also serves as a food drive to restock the pantry for ALIVE!  Participants and spectators alike are asked to bring two items of canned food.

Starting and finishing at George Washington Middle School, there will be elite runners vying for prize money, as well as individuals and entire families running/walking with young children in strollers, dogs and even grand parents!

Registration is still open but word has it that this will be the biggest Turkey Trot ever so don’t delay.

And if running is not quite your idea of what to do on Thanksgiving, well, come out to cheer on your neighbors or volunteer to help.

It’s all good fun and what we love best about living in Del Ray.

Gobble, gobble,

Virginia and Michael
